Lena Dunham Reveals Book Cover and Release Date

Lena Dunham Reveals Book Cover and Release Date

From the $3.7 million price tag to the juicy book proposal we glimpsed in 2012, Lena Dunham’s first book has been hotly anticipated since it was just a rumor. And now, the cover reveal! The Girlscreator showed off the cover of her forthcoming collection of essays, Not That Kind of Girl, on Instagram:

“It’s official,” she wrote. “Coming 10/7/14.”

Publishers are hoping that Not That Kind of Girl, a collection of essays, will get traction in much the same way that Tina Fey‘s  Bossypants did. According to the book proposal that made its way online briefly before getting pulled, the book will in part recreate Dunham’s childhood diary entries, complete with observations and illustrations. Of course, we couldn’t help but think of this classic Hannah Horvath quote:

More power to you, Hannah. We’re excited to find out how much Dunham has “learned” (as the book’s subtitle promises) that she hasn’t already shared with us through Tiny Furniture and Girls.
