I LOVED Michelle Dean’s book SHARP, which came out yesterday. It’s a wonderful cultural history. Dean is such a well-read and insightful critic, and SHARP is also a great introduction to so many important writers, from Hannah Arendt to Dorothy Parker.

Re: the last tweet—please do pre-order @PKhakpour’s book—not only to support her and her writing, but also to give Future You the gift of a compassionate, elegant, heartbreaking book about a topic that literature so desperately needs pic.twitter.com/tChblidJuk

Happy Twisted, Neurotic, Page-turning, Sun-soaked, Burbank-Scented Pub Day to @saracshepard! I read #TheElizas late last year and oh my, what a delicious way to spend the holidays. Sara has a distinctive tone and a delightful way of zooming in on the little things in the world, in our buzzing minds. This baby is out today. Pick it up, pick it up!
