The Best Dressed Bookworms at BookCon 2018

BookCon is known for bringing readers and authors together, but we also consider it to be the literary fashion event of the year. Bookworms from across the country show up in their best outfits and cosplays, knowing that even while standing in line you can still look and feel fabulous. From bookish dresses to magical ensembles, here are 20 of our favorite looks from BookCon 2018.

Why be Daenerys when you could be Drogon? We loved Alexa’s fierce Be A Dragon sweater.

Cait channeled Belle, everyone’s favorite Disney bookworm.

Booktuber Ashley is black and white and well-read all over.

James’ smart outfit reminds us of one of our favorite literary characters: the man in the yellow hat!

Perhaps believing we were muggles, this reader claimed to be Clay—but we know they’re really Newt Scamander and Pickett.

Authors Justine Larbalestier and Jason Reynolds were spotted looking sharp as always.

Book buddies Brie and Gwen came dressed to impress.

Running into this crew made us feel as though we had stepped into a Sarah J. Maas novel. Nikki C. is a fierce Manon Blackbeak, Brittany makes the perfect violet-eyed Rhysand, Nikki A. is darling as Feyre, and Carlee is their fabulous feline companion.

We couldn’t get enough of Kyra’s bold and bright ensemble.

The tights, the top, the shoes—we love every bit of Louella’s BookCon outfit.

Here’s a snapshot of Anna, in a bewitching look, using Alohomora to unlock BookCon’s many delights.

Savannah and Lacey prove that you can never go wrong with a little black dress (or a pineapple purse!).

A moment after snapping this photo we tried and failed to distract Fiona with a book so we could steal her fabulous floral blazer.

Wonder Woman Alejandra knows that books can save the world.

Haley’s outfit proves that you can never go wrong with a classic look.

Ying and Alex know that friendship, fiction, and fashion all go perfectly together.

Joanne’s Androma cosplay was the best in the galaxy.

From Alex’s boots to Edith’s beret, these two bookish friends are rocking BookCon.

Rifal and Oasima made the Javits Center bright with their colorful outfits.

BookCon wouldn’t be complete without a visit from the Night Court’s Feyre (Georgia) and Mor (Lindsey).

Want to look your bookish best all year long? We think you can’t go wrong with our rainbow bookstack shirt.
