Bond Goes Solo

British novelist and screenwriter William Boyd has announced the title and plot of his upcoming James Bond novel, which the estate of Bond creator Ian Fleming hired him to write last year. Solo will follow a 45-year-old 007 on a self-appointed, unauthorized mission across three continents—including Africa, where Boyd himself grew up—in the midst of the Cold War. Fleming’s original publisher, Jonathan Cape, will release the novel in the U.K. on 26 September, with Harper Collins following in the U.S. on October 8.
