About This Book
As believers, we were made for intimacy with God. The Lord Jesus gave His life for us so that we might have intimacy with Him. God knows that the more we get to know Him, the more we will know of life—the life we were created to experience. By focusing our thoughts on Him, we will grasp more fully His goodness and be all the better for it. We’ll come to see how much we really do depend on Him for everything—from salvation, to strength for each new day, to the next breath we draw into our lungs.

To know God intimately,

trust in Him faithfully,

and depend on Him consistently.

You want this immediately. So you must seek Him passionately!

Journey now along the pathway following the sweet, enticing fragrance of heaven. But don’t expect a walk in the park. In every life there are times when the road narrows and the skies grow dark. Seasons of suffering are as certain as the glorious destination before you. Yet you are called to go, and the Source of your spirit’s restoration promises to never leave your side.

Daily inspiration from Joni Eareckson Tada gently guides your steps to a closer, more intimate walk with your Savior. And as you travel, new life—His life!—is freely yours as a gift.

Story Behind the Book

“In the thirty-seven years I’ve lived as a quadriplegic, I have been forced time and again into the arms of Jesus. Sometimes my paralysis has pushed me down the road to Calvary, like a sheepdog snapping at my heels. Sometimes suffering is like jackhammer, breaking apart my rocks of resistance and pride. Most often, my wheelchair has dumped me at the foot of the cross, and I have rested there by the overwhelming conviction that I have nowhere else to turn. But that’s okay. In fact, it’s a blessing. It’s all a bruising-of-a-blessing. Because near the cross, in the arms of Jesus, I have discovered deep, sweet, peaceable intimacy with the Savior. It’s an intimacy worth sharing!”

    Diamonds in the Dust
    6 Sparkling Devotions
With more than 140,000 copies sold, Diamonds in the Dust has become a devotional favorite. Joni shows us precious jewels of biblical truth that lie scattered amidst the gravel of life's dusty road. 'The book you hold in your hand is my treasure trove of diamond chips I've collected over the years.' says Joni. 'I've carefully selected favorite gems, ones I've often held to the light, turned this way and that to admire their beauty, diamonds that have made me rich in faith and wealthy in hope.' These 366 meditations uncover a wealth of promise, of eternal truths waiting to transform the events of our lives into facets that catch and reflect God's glory. Written from the perspective of a woman who traverses life in a wheelchair, this book wipes away the surface grit of suffering and circumstance to reveal the radiant hope that each of us can claim. Diamonds in the Dust takes theology and gives it flesh, breath, and emotion. With eloquence, Joni draws from her own trials and triumphs to enrich us all with the wisdom of Scripture. But she's not the only one whose everyday life holds such potential. 'Look down at your feet.' Joni writes. 'The path sparkles. God has placed diamonds in the dust of your road, too!'

    When God Weeps

    When God Weeps
Why Our Sufferings Matter to the Almighty
If God is loving, why is there suffering? What's the difference between permitting something and ordaining it?When bad things happen, who's behind them--God or the devil? When suffering touches our lives, questions like these suddenly demand an answer. From our perspective, suffering doesn't make sense, especially when we believe in a loving and just God.After more than thirty years in a wheelchair, Joni Eareckson Tada's intimate experience with suffering gives her a special understanding of God's intentions for us in our pain. In When God Weeps, she and lifelong friend Steven Estes probe beyond glib answers that fail us in our time of deepest need. Instead, with firmness and compassion, they reveal a God big enough to understand our suffering, wise enough to allow it---and powerful enough to use it for a greater good than we can ever imagine

    The God I Love

    The God I Love
A Lifetime of Walking with Jesus
'The God I Love is the book that captures my heart and thoughts in the events, dialogues, memories, images, and scenes of my life---my walk with God.'---Joni Eareckson Tada Joni's name is synonymous around the world with the words 'loving God.' She has lived out these words since the diving accident thirty-six years ago that left her paralyzed from the shoulders down. Now in The God I Love she looks back on the whole of her life through eyes that can see how that accident actually moved her in a new direction, saving her from another tragedy of her own making. This story-driven narrative captures the events and images of Joni's remarkable life as she describes her life in six themes. She begins with her life as an ordinary girl who is blessed by an extraordinary God---but not without tragic turns. Then she ponders the question, would she have been an artist if she had not broken her neck? She recognizes that through prayer she enters into God's holy presence and finds that he answers her prayers in full measure. She acknowledges that it is only through the kindness of friends that she has bathed or eaten or done the countless simple tasks that make up everyday life. Because of her unusual situation, her wheelchair has rolled onto platforms around the world where millions of people have heard her speak about her Savior. Through tragedy Joni has come to know God, the living, surprising, wonderful Lord of all. A note from Joni--- The God I Love is a memory still unfolding of the journey that keeps taking me deeper into the heart of my Savior. It's my prayer that this story, which spans over fifty years, will resonate with each person who takes time to pick up the book...it's my prayer that The God I Love will serve as a roadmap, a guide, a signpost to light the journey of each reader, helping them to see their sweet, soft desperation of Jesus, too.

    A Lifetime of Wisdom

    A Lifetime of Wisdom
    Filled With God's Priceless Rubies
It's not what I lost. It's what I've found. I was only seventeen, just a girl, when God asked me for everything I had ... my health, my hopes, my independence, my dreams, my freedom, and my mobility. He took it all. I was so angry with Him that I tried to push Him away. God relentlessly held me more closely. Looking back, forty years later, I understand that God has changed and healed me---my heart and my mind---in the most unexpected ways, giving me rubies of His wisdom about an unbending faith and an experience of His mercy I can now tell you about. Was it a fair exchange, my freedom and no wheelchair for the rubies of wisdom I've been given? Absolutely. In this I have learned at the feet of the Lord Jesus, embracing the way that God heals us, even when we rage at Him in anger, fear, and despair. This book is not about what I lost in that diving accident so long ago. It's about the wisdom He's given me to live life victoriously in the face of disappointments and challenges that we all face.
