Watch: Exclusive TV Ad for "Doctor Sleep," by Stephen King
Of all of Stephen King's monster hits, including "It," "The Stand," "Misery" and many more, perhaps his horror classic that outdoes all others in sheer dread and terror is "The Shining," his 1977 thriller about the Torrance family and their fateful winter at the Overlook Hotel. (And who could forget Jack Nicholson's terrifying portrayal of Jack Torrance in Stanley Kubrick's 1980 film?)
This September, after a 36-year wait, King will bring us a grown-up Danny Torrance in a sequel, "Doctor Sleep." King fans the world over are hungry for an early taste, and Bookish has just the thing to whet your appetite: an exclusive video preview of the TV ad for "Doctor Sleep."
Watch the ad below, which will air during the CBS series based on King's "Under the Dome," premiering June 24 and starring Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad"), Rachelle Lefevre ("Twilight"), Mike Vogel ("Bates Motel") and newcomer Alexander Koch in the role of Junior Rennie.
As an added bonus, we've also got an exclusive image of King on the set of "Under the Dome," doubtless coaching the camera crew on achieving maximum suspense:
