Cover Reveal: Sara Benincasa's 'Great'
In her memoir "Agorafabulous! Dispatches from My Bedroom," comedian Sara Benincasa shared her struggles as a teen (and eventually, an adult) dealing with depression and agoraphobia. Now, she's delving into young love in her first YA novel "Great," a retelling of "The Great Gatsby" with teenage socialites. Bookish has the first look at the cover!
In addition, Benincasa revealed what you can expect from "Great," due out in April 2014:
"Like the book itself, the cover for 'Great' is sexy, seductive, and alluring. Inspired by 'The Great Gatsby,' the story centers on fabulously wealthy teenage girls in the Hamptons--in particular, Jacinta Trimalchio, a mysterious fashion blogger who hosts extravagant parties in her mansion. Jacinta's obsession with another young socialite leads to all kinds of steamy drama. It's pretty hot."
We want to be invited to this house party! With Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" hitting movie theaters this week, it's clear that F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic still resonates with younger audiences. What do you think of these new takes?
